Adrian - many still life artists have influenced me; a few are Michiko Kon, Rosamund Wolff Purcell, and Olivia Parker, and on another level, Joel-Peter Witkin and Andres Serrano. Both Serrano and Witkin utilize base material to reference art historical, religious, and mythological content and delve into the spiritual aspect of the corporeal.
Mary " I love Marian Drews work! Someone directed me to it when they saw some of my images and I was definitely inspired by it. The way she paints her subjects with light gives them such incredible richness and luminosity. Just stunning.
Diane " I really appreciate your comment. I have been following your work and your thoughts mean a lot coming from a such a kindred spirit. We should get together since you are in Tennessee and I am in North Alabama. I would love to meet and have a conversation about our work.
Arno " Such a beautiful sentiment. I show my students your work every semester and am honored that you took the time to comment. Thank you.
Dave and Susan " Thank you for including my work in the book " I am very excited to see it!

Does the bird know how beautiful it is, even in death? Makes me wonder about the unexplored frontiers of metaphysical thought engendered by wisely seen photographs such as this.

Incredibly beautiful work. I saw an exhibit that included several pieces from this body of work and admired them then. I photograph taxidermy in natural history museums, so this is right up my alley. The line between beauty and ugliness is an interesting one to walk.

This is a beautiful image, I am wondering if you were inspired by the Australian artist, Marian Drew?

Hi Sarah, I am really drawn to these still-life photographs! I have recently been giving a lot of thought about creating some of my own. Is there any artists in particular you were inspired by when you decided to make these?
